I had the pleasure of attending the Business Journal Live with Christian Chabot, CEO & Co-Founder of Tableau Software this morning in downtown Seattle. I first have to say how impressed I was with his very humble and enthusiastic demeanor. He spoke at length about his journey from a classroom at Stanford to planting his roots here in Seattle. He discussed his almost 11 year journey and he and his partners approach to stay true to their mission and build a culture where everyone matters, while cultivating the power of data and helping businesses all over the world quickly and seamlessly extract their data and stories.
You can tell a lot from an individual and a company when you spend 160 hours a month, 1,920 hours a year with them. However, the true test of ones’ character is what they do outside of the work place. This is where an individual’s real self comes out and when they can be 100% organic.
